AutoCAD is a registered trademark of Autodesk, Inc.

Autodesk AutoCAD originated in 1985 as an extension to Autodesk’s earlier version of AutoCAD, which in turn had originated in 1982, as a drawing editor for personal computers. The first AutoCAD programs were built by John Walker, based on his Ph.D. thesis Computer Modelling and Design of the Structural Flowsheet Form for Pipelines. Autodesk AutoCAD C++ is derived from the C++ ObjectARX.NET base class library.

AutoCAD was originally a vector-based program that ran on the IBM PC platform, although they later released a DOS version for the IBM PC. Later versions also ran on other platforms, such as Windows 3.x and NT. AutoCAD also ran on the DEC and Amiga platforms, although it was often bundled with third-party drawing programs. AutoCAD first offered laser-drafting capabilities in AutoCAD R15.

The first version of AutoCAD which offered non-vector options was AutoCAD LT. This was similar to most other vector-based programs available on personal computers in the 1980s. It was less popular than AutoCAD, and was limited to 2D drafting and design. AutoCAD LT version 1.0 was released on 16 September 1989 and was much less expensive than the full version of AutoCAD.

When data is written into the memory cell, a high voltage, such as, a write voltage, is applied to the drain region and the control gate, and a low voltage is applied to the source region and the semiconductor substrate. This means that hot electrons generated by the write voltage are injected into the floating gate. As a result, the threshold of the memory cell becomes high, and a cell current flows through the drain region.
In this case, a write operation is completed when the cell current is sufficiently decreased and the threshold of the memory cell is sufficiently increased. However, there may be a case where the cell current is not sufficiently decreased after the write operation is completed, and the threshold of the memory cell is not sufficiently increased. In this case, the cell current is considered to be small.
Here, the write voltage applied to the drain region and the control gate is set at a negative voltage. When the cell current is sufficiently decreased, a voltage difference between the drain voltage and the source voltage becomes large, and a depletion layer is formed between the drain region and the semiconductor substrate. As a result, when the cell current is not sufficiently decreased, a sufficient voltage difference is not obtained between the drain region and the semiconductor substrate, and the depletion layer cannot be formed. Therefore, the cell current is not sufficiently decreased.
In the prior art, when the cell current is not sufficiently decreased and the cell current is small, the write operation is repeatedly performed in order to increase the threshold of the memory cell. As a result, data can be written into a plurality of memory cells.
